Uistio catch diary with species, search and catch statistics

Your catches, with the details.

Save the species, measurements, photo and lure alongside your own notes. Search your history, filter by species and keep track of your longest and heaviest catches.

Your fishing diary stays personal. You decide which catches to share with the community.

Uistio fishing map with depth contours and saved spots

Find your way back to a good spot.

Save your own fishing spots and browse places shared by the community. Depth contours help you study the shape of the lake bottom where depth data is available.

Your spots are private by default. The map supports trip planning and is not intended for navigation.

A shared home for anglers in Finland.

The idea for Uistio came from my own experience. Fishing information, tips and spots were scattered across the internet, and I struggled to find information in international apps that was relevant to my fishing in Finland.

I wanted to build a place where anglers in Finland could talk, share their experiences and learn from one another. The idea is a platform that brings the different sides of fishing together and grows with anglers’ needs.

Juuso Lehestö — the person behind Uistio

I’m an angler from Turku, Finland, and I’m building Uistio on my own. I study Business Administration at Turku University of Applied Sciences, where I began developing the app in spring 2026.

I’ve been fishing since childhood. These days, you’ll usually find me in a rowing boat on Airisto or fishing from the shores around Turku. I’m particularly drawn to pike fishing and the way fish react to different lures.

For me, fishing means unwinding, challenging myself and always learning. I hope to build an open community around Uistio where everyone can learn and share what they know.

I’d like to hear about your experience with Uistio. I’ll use the customer satisfaction survey results to improve the app and in my thesis.

Weather and BiteIndex

Check the weather, air pressure trend and a weather-based estimate of fish activity. Compare conditions with your own experience; the index does not guarantee a catch.

How BiteIndex works

Your own tackle box

Keep lure names, types, colours and photos in your tackle box. Connect the lure you used with a catch so you can find it again later.

Explore the tackle box

Get to know the species

Browse fish species by group or habitat. Species pages bring together identification images, descriptions and a quick guide for anglers.

Questions about Uistio

What is Uistio?

Uistio is a Finnish fishing app for iPhone and Android. It combines a catch diary, a tackle box, fishing spots, weather and BiteIndex with a community catch feed.

What can I save in my fishing log?

You can record the species, length, weight, photo, lure, location, conditions and your own notes. Search and filters help you revisit earlier catches. Explore the fishing log.

Can other people see my fishing spots?

Your saved spots are private by default. Sharing with the community is your choice; a catch post does not automatically publish its exact coordinates. Read about fishing spots.

Does BiteIndex predict a catch?

No. BiteIndex is a weather-based estimate of possible predator-fish activity. It is a planning aid, not a scientifically validated probability or a guarantee. See what the estimate means.
