A fishing log that is always with you.

A fishing log becomes useful when you can return to the circumstances of an earlier catch. In Uistio, the catch and its details stay in the same entry.

1. Start with the catch. Select the species and add a photo. Record the length and weight when you have measured them.
2. Add the context. Save the location, the lure you used, conditions and notes about the catch.
3. Choose what to share. Keep the entry in your own history or share it with the community.

An example: an 86 cm pike

The app screenshot on this page shows an 86 cm pike recorded in the diary. Its species, length and photo identify the catch. There is no need to guess its weight from the photo or length: record a weight only if you weighed the fish.

For your own entry, add the lure you used and a note about the bite. Was the lure near the surface or the bottom? Did the fish take it during the retrieve or a pause? These are your observations to return to on another trip.

Find an earlier catch

Search your diary, filter catches by species and change their order. The summary shows catch and species counts, plus your heaviest and longest recorded catches. These records help you compare your own trips; they do not explain every reason a fish bit.

To compare pike trips, start by filtering your diary to pike. Then review the lures and your notes. One catch is an observation; several carefully recorded trips help you identify what you might try again.

Save your lures in Uistio’s tackle box, with names and types that make sense to you. Add a photo, manufacturer, model and colour, and mark a lure as a favourite.

Connect the lure you used with a catch. Later, you can return to that combination instead of trying to remember which colour or model was on the line.

Build your own reference

A list of your lures helps you keep track of what you own. Catch entries add context: the species, place, conditions and observations from that particular day.
